La Spezia and its surroundings
Tellaro:
The last village on the coast within the Gulf of Poets is precariously perched on a rocky headland which drops steeply to the water.
An ancient church dedicated to St George sits on the extreme point overlooking a small square which is encircled by old characteristic houses. Tellaro with its beaches and beautiful scenery together with Montemarcello, Manarola, Vernazza, Bugnato and Varese liguria have for many years formed part of the "Borgi piu Belli d'Italia" (the most beautiful antique villages in Italy).
Versilia:
For people who enjoy nightlife Versilia is only 20 minutes from La Spezia by car. Since the 1960's the town has been famous for its numerous nightclubs which are open all year round. There are also a number of exclusive swimming and sunbathing areas which are regularly frequented by celebrities.
